International Admissions Requirements
(INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS ONLY!)
We regret there is no provision for financial aid or scholarships for international students or for visiting scholars.
It would be necessary for you to have on hand the financial resources to pay for tuition, fees, and books, and to take care of your living expenses while in this country.
We suggest that you investigate possible sources of funding through your employer, government or other agencies which support international studies.
The tuition rate for the 1996-97 academic year is $406 per credit hour; the general university fee is $452 annually. It will cost a student a total of approximately $24,360 for the 60 credits required for the master's degree. In addition you will need approximately $1,500 per month for living expenses, books, and supplies.
Applicants for admission must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or must have had equivalent training at a foreign university.
Admission requires a 3.0 (B) grade point average in the last two years of undergraduate work (at least sixty semester credits or ninety quarter credits).
All applicants for the Master of Science and the Master of Science in Information Systems degree are required to take the General (Aptitude) Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Applicants who have at least a 3.0 grade point average in the last half of their undergraduate credits may be eligible for admission to master's programs without taking the Graduate Record Examination. This decision is made by the associate dean of the College after reviewing the application. A calendar of test dates for the coming months is enclosed. Further information can be obtained by writing to Educational Testing Service, P.O. Box 6000, Princeton, NJ 08541-6000; you may call ETS at (609) 771-7670. Scores must be sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions by Educational Testing Service.
Overseas students must demonstrate competency in the English language prior to receiving formal admission.
Evidence of competency must be given by acceptable scores (a minimum of 600) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), administered by the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey.
The standard requirement for the master's degree in the College is 60 quarter hours. While the program can be completed in four full quarters (one calendar year), we advise students to allow five quarters (15 months) to complete the program.
